Search & Filters

Finding the right building material across thousands of products should take seconds, not minutes. The search system is designed for construction professionals who know exactly what they need — and for those who know the general category but need help narrowing it down.

01

Search functionality

The search bar accepts product names in both Arabic and English, SKU numbers, manufacturer names, and general descriptions. Type "OPC 50kg" and you get Ordinary Portland Cement in 50-kilogram bags. Type "حديد تسليح 12mm" and you get 12mm reinforcement steel bars. The search uses fuzzy matching, so minor spelling variations and transliteration differences still return relevant results.

Search results appear instantly, grouped by product category, with the most relevant matches at the top. Each result shows the product name (bilingual), manufacturer, key specifications, price range, and availability status.

02

Filters and sorting

After searching — or when browsing a category — you can refine results using multiple filters:

  • Category and subcategory to narrow the product type
  • Brand/manufacturer to find specific suppliers' products
  • Specifications like dimensions, weight, grade, or material composition
  • Availability to show only items currently in stock or available within a specific lead time
  • Price range to filter by the displayed price range tiers

Sorting options include relevance, price range (low to high or high to low), availability, and popularity. The default sort for search results is relevance; for category browsing, it is a combination of availability and supplier verification score.

03

Finding specific materials

Construction projects often require materials with precise specifications. The search system handles specification-based queries: "Grade 60 rebar 16mm" returns exactly that, filtering out Grade 40 and other diameters. You can search by Egyptian standard references and international equivalents.

For broad searches — "materials for a concrete pour" — use the Market categories and filters to narrow the catalog. The website AI guide can help you find where to browse, but it does not build or submit material lists from public chat.

04

Bulk product lookup

If you have a bill of materials from an architect or engineer, you do not need to search for each item individually. Upload a CSV or Excel file with product descriptions and quantities, and the system matches your list against the catalog. Unmatched items are flagged for manual review or AI-assisted matching.

05

Search from anywhere

The search bar is accessible from every page on the website. On the customer portal, the same search powers the material list builder, so products you find can be added directly to an active quote request with a single tap.
