Smart Recommendations
Procurement in construction is repetitive by nature — the same materials ordered month after month, the same project phases requiring the same categories of products. The AI recommendation system learns from your purchasing history and the broader platform to surface relevant suggestions, alternatives, and timely reminders.
Reorder suggestions
The most practical AI recommendation is the reorder reminder. Based on your purchasing patterns, the system identifies when you are likely to need materials again. "You ordered cement 30 days ago — time to reorder?" appears when the interval matches your historical buying cycle for that product.
These suggestions are not generic. They reference your actual quantities, the specific products you purchased, and the delivery location. A single tap creates a pre-filled quote request that you can adjust and submit, reducing a 10-minute material list exercise to 30 seconds.
For project-based purchasing, the system tracks phase-level patterns. If your "Villa Phase 1" project followed a cement-then-rebar-then-finishing sequence, and your "Villa Phase 2" project just received its cement delivery, the system may suggest starting the rebar procurement process.
Alternative materials
When a product is out of stock, has extended lead times, or has experienced a significant price increase, the AI recommends alternatives that meet similar specifications. These alternatives are drawn from the catalog and filtered by:
- Specification compatibility — Same grade, strength class, or material properties
- Availability — Currently in stock with fresh supplier data
- Price range — Comparable to or better than the original product
- Supplier reliability — From suppliers with strong performance scores
Alternatives appear directly on the product page and within the material list builder. When you are assembling a quote request and an item shows "Lead Time: 3 weeks," the system surfaces available substitutes alongside the original choice.
The AI does not substitute materials without your knowledge. Every recommendation is presented as a suggestion that you explicitly accept or reject.
Smart material list suggestions
When you are building a material list for a project, the AI suggests commonly co-purchased items. Adding reinforcement steel triggers suggestions for tie wire and chairs. Adding cement suggests aggregates and admixtures. These suggestions draw from platform-wide purchasing patterns in the Egyptian construction market, filtered to your project type and scale.
For the AI estimation feature — where you describe a project and the system generates a material list — recommendations go deeper. The AI cross-references typical material quantities for the described project type (residential, commercial, infrastructure), the square footage, and the number of floors to produce a comprehensive starter list.
Favorite products and saved lists
Beyond AI-generated suggestions, you can mark products as favorites for quick access. The portal home screen surfaces your favorite products and recently ordered items, creating a personalized catalog view that puts your most-used materials within one tap.
Saved material lists by project work alongside AI suggestions. Your "Monthly Restock" template can incorporate AI-suggested quantity adjustments based on your usage trend — ordering 10% more cement this month because your last three orders showed increasing quantities.
How recommendations improve over time
The recommendation engine becomes more accurate as your transaction history grows. Early suggestions are based on platform-wide patterns and product category associations. After several orders, recommendations shift to reflect your specific purchasing behavior, preferred brands, typical quantities, and project types. The system never shares your individual data with other customers — your purchasing patterns inform your own recommendations only.
